SMARTECH INDUSTRIE SAS takes the protection of your data seriously. This page explains what information we collect on this site, why, how long we keep it and how to exercise your rights. It is based on Gabonese Law no. 001/2011 of 25 September 2011 on the protection of personal data (as amended) and, for our activities in France and hosting in Europe, on the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Data collected and retention periods
We only collect what you choose to send us through the forms, plus the technical information the site needs to work.

Application pre-screening
Some job ads include a few questions about the requirements of the position (qualification, certification, driving licence, experience, availability…). When an answer does not meet an essential requirement set by the recruitment team, the application is not forwarded and a reply is sent to you within 24 to 48 hours; your CV is then neither forwarded nor kept. The questions are about the job only, never about age, sex, origin, religion, family situation, health or any other personal characteristic. You can ask for a member of the recruitment team to review your application by writing to recrutement@smartech-industrie.fr: we will reply and, if needed, invite you to send your CV again.
Recipients
Your data is read only by the relevant SMARTECH INDUSTRIE SAS teams (management, sales, technical or recruitment depending on the request). It is never sold, rented or passed on. Our hosting and e-mail provider, IONOS SE (Germany), stores it on our behalf and does not use it for its own purposes.
Hosting and transfers
The site and e-mail are hosted by IONOS in data centres in the European Union, which provide a recognised level of protection. Data sent from Gabon is therefore stored in Europe; our teams access it from Gabon and France.
Security
Encrypted connection (HTTPS) across the whole site, hashed passwords, two-factor authentication on our internal tools, role-based access, regular server updates.
Cookies
This site uses no advertising cookies and no audience-measurement tools, and stores nothing on your device when you browse the public pages: that is why no consent banner is shown. Fonts are hosted on our own server, with no call to Google or any other third-party service.
Only staff who sign in to the administration area receive two technical cookies, strictly necessary and deleted when the browser closes or on sign-out: smt_admin (secure session) and smt_staff (shows the shortcut to the admin area).
The share buttons (LinkedIn, Facebook, WhatsApp) are plain links: nothing is loaded from those networks unless you click. Some illustrations may come from the Unsplash image library, which then receives your device's IP address as with any image display.
Your rights
You can at any time ask to access, correct or delete your data, object to or restrict its use, and ask for a human review of a pre-screening decision. Write to contact@smartech-industrie.fr (or recrutement@smartech-industrie.fr for an application); we reply within one month. If you believe your rights have not been respected, you can contact Gabon's national data protection authority (CNPDCP) or, from the European Union, the authority in your country (in France, the CNIL).
